Who we are
Leadership In Focus is a business value and leadership consulting firm founded by Kurtis Graham in Milton, Ontario and Curtis Scaplen in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We work with owner-led businesses across Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, using the Value Builder Score to show what a business is worth and why, and our BrandTruth Alignment™ Turnaround System to raise that value.

OUR STORY
Why we started Leadership In Focus
Between us, we've spent more than 45 years inside global corporations, mid-sized companies and founder-led businesses, in Canada and over 30 countries. We kept seeing the same pattern.
Good businesses, with solid products and decent numbers, were quietly losing value. The cause was rarely the strategy. It was the gap between what the company said and how it actually ran. The owner made every important decision. Key knowledge lived with one or two people. The brand promised something the front line couldn't deliver. And the people who could see it often didn't feel safe saying so.
Buyers, successors and lenders notice that gap. So do employees and customers. We started Leadership In Focus to help owners see it first, and fix it.

How we work
We start with the free Value Builder Score, which rates your business on the 8 drivers buyers use to set value. Then we use RESTORE, the seven principles of our BrandTruth Alignment™ System, to fix the leadership, culture and brand gaps behind the score. Most clients start with a 4–6 week diagnostic and blueprint.

Kurtis Graham

Kurtis founded Leadership In Focus after more than 20 years leading sales and marketing teams across Fortune 500 organizations, high-growth mid-sized companies and founder-led businesses, in Canada, Europe and Southeast Asia.
Across global enterprises, scaling businesses and early-stage ventures, he saw the same thing: when brand, culture and leadership drift apart, performance suffers, however strong the strategy looks on paper. He has built growth platforms inside established organizations and worked directly with founders navigating scale, change and cultural tension.
He believes leadership should be measured by alignment under pressure: when decisions are hard, expectations are high and credibility is tested.

Curtis is a relationship-driven entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience building brands and leading growth across Canada and in over 30 countries. He has partnered with some of the world's largest suppliers, worked across diverse industries, and stayed focused on solving meaningful customer problems.
As a Certified Value Builder™, he helps owners understand what their business is worth and what drives it. He challenges assumptions, pushes for clarity and believes leadership must be rooted in purpose rather than position. Since returning to Atlantic Canada, he has focused on building organizations that strengthen the regional economy.
